I just returned from a long trip thru Central America. I started in Mexico, traveled thru Guatamala and Nicaragua, and eneded the trip in Costa Rica. If you love beaches, Mexico is the place. If you like tourists, Costa Rica is the place. If you are an offbeat traveler like myself, Nicaragua is the place. This country has been relatively untouched by the outside world. I want to give an honorable mention to Viva Spanish School in Managua. I studied there for one week. They set me up with a nicaraguan family homestay, set up tours for me and were just incredibly nice. I had spoken with others before I went and they both said that as far as Nicaragua Spanish Schools, Viva Spanish is where to go. I ended the trip in Costa Rica. I think it is completely overrated. A lot of gringos, including myself. I really felt that the people of Guatamala and Nicaragua were the best part of the trip. Well, thats its n=for now....
